Why woodpecker's don't get headaches, teenager repelant (my favorite), and the reason dry spaghetti breaks into more than one piece when snapped are all winning topics of the 2006 IG Nobel Prize. My hat is off to these people. The awards are given every year to research that makes people laugh then think. Check out last year's winners and much more at Improbable Research.
